Who We Are
Since 1995, the HAM Channel has the been the creative outlet for students to tell stories, report news, host talk shows and learn the ins and outs of television.
Students – under the guidance of the station manager and with support from the Media Center – run every aspect of the Channel. A steering committee of the student leaders of the Channel oversee the day-to-day operations including producing, marketing, programming and community relations.
The HAM Channel – at its core – is a club. This means that students from a variety of majors and experience levels join and learn together how to create compelling television. The channel is a creative laboratory to learn and to have fun in the process.
Many of our members go on to lives in the professional television industry at places such as NBC, Fox News, MTV, CBS, the Late Show with David Letterman, and ESPN, just to name a few.
To inform. To learn. To entertain. To engage.
This is the very essence, the very heart, of The HAM Channel.
This is also what makes television compelling.
